Emotional CSK Fans Want Suresh Raina Back In The Squad

When Chennai Super Kings (CSK) announced their list on the retention day, a big name was missing, and honestly, nobody really talked about. We are talking about Mr. IPL Suresh Raina, who has been CSK’s backbone for more than a decade.

It is true that Suresh Raina has surpassed his best and he isn’t the force he used to be a couple of years back but still his exclusion from CSK’s list is a sign of things to come and who knows if Suresh Raina has already played his last IPL.

When CSK announced their decision to retain Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad, a section of their fans wasn’t happy with Suresh Raina’s exclusion and they took to social media to express their disappointment.

It was a very emotional moment for his fans and CSK supporters because Suresh Raina has been one of the most prolific scorers in the Indian Premier League with 5,528 runs to his credit, at an average of 32.5. Fans are hoping that CSK will go for him in the mega auction and make sure that he plays only in the yellow jersey in the IPL.

Check out some of tweets and messages shared by Suresh Raina’s fans and CSK supporters:

OUR VIEW: We believe it was a right decision by Chennai Super Kings to not retain Suresh Raina because he wasn’t looking anywhere near his best in IPL 2021. However, only for the contribution that Suresh Raina has made to the franchise and given his career, sweat and everything he could to Chennai Super Kings, the franchise should bid for him in the mega auction and if he decides to hang his boots completely, Raina should be made a member of the coaching staff for the level of understanding and experience he has of playing in the Indian Premier League.

We hope fans will get to see Suresh Raina back in his favourite yellow jersey.
