Fast bowler S Sreesanth is all set for another comeback after a long gap of 9 years as he has been included in Kerala’s preliminary Ranji Trophy squad for the 2021/22 season. Sreesanth didn’t play any of the white-ball fixtures for Kerala this season, however, he now looks all set for a mega comeback.
Sreesanth took to Twitter and made the big announcement that he would be making his return to domestic cricket. Speaking via video, the pacer thanked his fans for their support and stated that it was great to “be back in the whites again”. He said:
“Hi! Good afternoon and thank you very much for the love and support. Its great to be back in the whites again, bowling red ball, that too for my state where it all started”,
“I’m really excited just like the U19 boy who got the red ball for the first time”, he concluded.
Sharing the video, Sreesanth wrote:
“Feels great to be back after 9 years playing Ranji trophy for my lovely state really grateful to each and everyone of u,lots of love and respect”

For the unversed, Sreesanth last played a first-class match in 2013, following which he served a seven-year suspension for his alleged involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. His suspension ended on September 13, 2020.
The pacer has 211 wickets in 73 first-class matches he has played so far. In 27 Tests he has played so far, he has dismissed 87 batsmen. His previous Test appearance for the Indian cricket team came back in 2011 against England
Talking about his comeback, Sree will be making his comeback for Sachin Baby-led Kerala squad for the Ranji Trophy. Kerala’s Ranji Trophy fixtures start on January 13 against Vidarbha, followed by Bengal (January 20), Rajasthan (January 27), Tripura (February 3), and Haryana (February 10).
