The World Giants put up a stellar show to defeat India Maharajas by three wickets for its first win in the Legends League Cricket tournament, all thanks to the match-winning knock by South Africa’s stunning performer Imran Tahir.

Imran Tahir walked out to bat at number 8 when the Giants were struggling at 130 for six in the 14th over. Imran Tahir walked out with all-guns-blazing and took the game by storm. The India Maharajas then slipped from the brink of a comfortable as Tahir helped the team make a stunning comeback by playing a match-winning knock of 19-ball 52*, smashing five sixes, two of which came in the final over.

Imran Tahir’s knock helped the team level with the India Maharajas and Asian Lions on the points table, with all the three sides on two points after the first round of matches.

However, the World Giants will miss the services of Imran Tahir in the upcoming matches as he would leave to play for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League. The Mohammad Kaif-led India Maharajas will begin its second round of fixtures when it meets the Asia Lions on Monday.
