Suresh Raina Got A Special Award Ahead Of IPL 2022

Former Indian cricketer and world cup hero Suresh Raina was presented with the prestigious ‘Sports Icon’ award at the Maldives Sports Awards 2022. He was nominated alongside 16 international sportspersons, including batting legend Sanath Jayasuriya, former Real Madrid player Roberto Carlos, Jamaican Sprinter Asafa Powell, and Dutch football legend Edgar Davids.

On Friday, Raina took to his Twitter and shared a picture of himself receiving an award at the Maldives Sports Awards 2022. In his Tweet, Raina expressed gratitude to his fans and expressed how the feeling of representing team India on a global platform among all the other world champions is unmatchable. He wrote:

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina, who went unsold in the IPL 2022 mega-auctions, will be seen in IPL 2022 but it will be off the pitch. As per a report in Dainik Jagran newspaper, Star Sports have reportedly roped in the CSK superstar for their Hindi commentary team. He will be seen in action in the commentary box alongside former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri.
