Suresh Raina Wrote A Beautiful Tweet For CSK’s New Captain Ravindra Jadeja

Suresh Raina Wrote A Beautiful Tweet For CSK’s New Captain Ravindra Jadeja: It’s an end of an era, before the ultimate end of the era. MS Dhoni resigned as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings just two days out from what is likely to be his last IPL season.

As CSK’s captain, the Ranchi lad goes out with 4 IPL trophies, 9 finals, 11 playoffs out of 12 seasons CSK participated in, and countless memories, which will be added in plethora further this season.

Ravindra Jadeja, the all-rounder who’s been with CSK since 2012 and is currently in his best career form, has been given the captaincy duties. But, in a statement, the franchise said that “Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond”.

The first signs of Jadeja being earmarked as CSK’s next figurehead came when the southpaw was retained for 16 crore – 4 more crores than the price on which Dhoni was retained.

As soon as the announcement came out, tributes started pouring in lauding the captaincy stint of Dhoni, and also congratulatory messages in heaps for Jadeja.

Among many, former CSK stalwart Suresh Raina also congratulated Jadeja. Raina, who went unsold in the mega-auction, felt that Jadeja is the best man to take this baton from Dhoni, and believes that the all-rounder will live up to the expectations.

“Absolutely thrilled for my brother. I can’t think of anyone better to take over the reins of a franchise we both had grown up in. All the best @imjadeja. It’s an exciting phase and I’m sure you will live up to all the expectations and love,” Raina tweeted soon after the announcement.

After not finding any buyers at the mega-auction, Raina decided to enter the field of commentary. Known as Mr IPL, Raina will be part of the Hindi commentary panel for the upcoming season.

CSK will commence their title defence on Saturday against the side who they defeated in the final last year, Kolkata Knight Riders, at the Wankhede Stadium.
