IPL 2022: 10 Best Memes From ‘LSG vs PBKS’

LSG vs PBKS: KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants came out on top by 20 runs against his good friend Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings on Friday night at the MCA Stadium, Pune.

With this victory, LSG moved up to the third position in the points table, with 12 points in 9 games, and will strengthen their belief for not only a playoff berth but for a top-two finish. They have now won three of their last four contests.

PBKS have had opposite results having lost three of their last four games and now sit in the bottom half of the table with 8 points in 9 matches.

Being asked to bat first, Lucknow lost their best batter and captain, Rahul, for just 6 runs. But, Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda stabilised the innings with an 85-run stand in 59 balls. However, de Kock’s wicket triggered a collapse as LSG slipped from 98/1 to 111/6. Some late hits by Holder, Chameera and Mohsin Khan helped them reach a par total of 153.

Agarwal got his side off to a flyer scoring 25 off 17 balls but once both the openers were dismissed, LSG found their voice. As the pitch slowed down with the ball sticking in the surface, helping the spinners, LSG found a way back in with the help of Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya.

Bishnoi bowled under Dhawan’s sweep but it was Krunal who hurt LSG the most, first dismissing Bhanuka Rajapaksa and then Jitesh Sharma. Liam Livingstone threatened LSG with a couple of sixes down the ground but young Mohsin Khan had him caught behind.

Jonny Bairstow played a scratchy knock of 32 from 28 balls and was Punjab’s last hope before Dushmantha Chameera elicited a mistimed shot from the Englishman with his high pace.

Krunal Pandya was adjudged the Man of the Match for his superb bowling figures of 2/11 in four overs that included a maiden.

Fans came up with some hilarious memes trolling the Punjab Kings who boast of a power-packed batting line-up but are once again looking as if they will end up missing the playoffs; Punjab hasn’t finished in the top four since 2014!
