IPL 2022: 10 Funniest Memes On Lord Shardul Thakur After His Powerful Cameo

Memes On Lord Shardul Thakur: Thakur’s onslaught towards the end helped his side, Delhi Capitals, put up a mammoth total of 215 against Kolkata Knight Riders when the two sides met on Sunday at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

Shreyas Iyer had won the toss and inserted DC to bat first. Capitals got off to a rollicking start from Prithvi Shaw (51 off 29), David Warner (61 off 45) and Rishabh Pant (27 off 14). However, what followed was an inspiring comeback from the KKR bowlers as they chipped away with middle-order wickets leaving DC at 166/5 with only three overs to go.

It felt that the platform laying work of the DC top-order was somehow going to be wasted by the middle-order but ‘Lord’ Shardul Thakur (29 off 11) and Axar Patel (22 off 14), both promoted over Sarfaraz Khan, produced some scintillating strokes against Umesh Yadav and Pat Cummins to propel DC to 215.

With two overs to go, and DC’s score 176/5, the pair of Axar and Thakur unleashed mayhem as they collected 39 runs in the last 12 balls. In the firing line first was Umesh, who’s been brilliant with the new ball but poor in the death.

Thakur cleanly pulled Yadav over the mid-wicket fence for a gigantic sixer and followed it up with another over deep cover. Axar then launched Umesh for a six and a four to take 23 from the over.

Thakur started off the last over, from Cummins, with a boundary smartly chipping over mid-off up, and finished off the innings in style with another huge maximum to the Australian Test skipper, finding the deep mid-wicket boundary once again.

Memes, jokes, troll, laughter, emojis – all galore as ‘Lord’ Shardul Thakur downed the two experienced international bowlers with some brutal striking.

Here’s how netizens reacted to his hammering from Thakur and Axar:
