IPL 2022: Fans React After Rishi Dhawan Was Seen Wearing Face Guard

Punjab Kings is currently locking its horns against Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium. As both the teams are battling out on the field, one thing that caught everyone’s attention was Punjab Kings’ Rishi Dhawan, who was seen bowling with a special mask on.

Well, Rishi Dhawan, who is the captain of Himachal Pradesh, is returning back to the Indian Premier League after as many as six years. Rishi Dhawan had last represented Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) and is once again representing the team after all these years.

The ongoing match between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium tonight is Rishi Dhawan’s fifth match against CSK. During the game, Dhawan was seen bowling while wearing a special nose mask.

For the unversed, Dhawan has recovered from the injury, that he suffered during Ranji Trophy. The cricketer was hit on his head while bowling in a Ranji Trophy game, and was needed to be hospitalized. In order to protect himself from further damage, Dhawan has been wearing this shield.

Ahead of the game, Rishi Dhawan talked about his comeback and how he is fine after the surgery. He said:

“I am making an IPL comeback after 4 years so it was a little disheartening when I got injured in the Ranji Trophy. I had to go through surgery which ruled me out of the first four matches, but I’m totally fine and available for selection now. I’ve been training hard and hope to have a strong comeback,”
