IPL 2022: Wasim Jaffer Took A Subtle Dig At Boria Majumdar

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer shared a special message for veteran keeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha, who played a terrific knock for SunRisers Hyderabad during the IPL 2022 match against Gujarat Titans at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Gujarat openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha joined hands and gave a brilliant start to the side by adding 69 runs for the first wicket before Kane Williamson unleashed Umran Malik and destroyed the Gujarat Titans unit.

Shubman Gill could only score 22 runs and the next man, GT’s captain Hardik Pandya could only manage to score just 10 runs before he was dismissed by Umran Malik. However, Saha kept his calm and completely his brilliant half-century and was looking good to steer GT towards the target.

Saha gave his team a much-needed start and reached his half-century off just 28 balls. This was his ninth fifty of the Indian Premier League. However, he was soon dismissed by Umran Khan, who bowled a 153 kph yorker to get rid of Saha.

That was a stunning yorker and Saha moved past the leg stump, trying to squeeze it away, however, he was just too late to bring the bat down and his stumps were shattered in no time. He was dismissed after playing a stunning knock of 68 runs off 38 balls, including 11 fours and 1 six.

Meanwhile, Saha has been receiving praises from all corners for his terrific knock. Several cricketers and experts also joined the bandwagon to hail the brilliant knock by the veteran keeper-batter.

Among many, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer also wrote a special message for Wriddhiman Saha. In his Tweet, he praised Saha for his knock and wrote how the knock meant a lot to him.

However, many fans feel that his Tweet was also a subtle dig at the journalist Boria Majumdar, who was recently banned for 2 years after he was found guilty of intimidating India wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha. Jaffer wrote the correct spelling of the infamous ‘YPU’ in his tweet and that too in all caps. Jaffer wrote:

“Well played @Wriddhipops 👊🏽👏🏽 We know how much this means to YOU 😊 #SRHvGT #IPL2022″
