IPL 2022: CSK Coach Stephen Fleming Made A Big Statement About Ravindra Jadeja’s Form

CSK Coach Stephen Fleming Made A Big Statement About Ravindra Jadeja’s Form: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) haven’t been able to live up to the expectations of the fans in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.

With underwhelming performances from players in every department, the team is currently in a spot of bother with the chances of playoffs almost done and dusted. Now with just 4 games remaining in the tournament for CSK this season and only 6 points in their bag, consider CSK’s campaign almost over.

However, one of the main reasons behind CSK’s poor form in the ongoing season has been the poor form of CSK’s ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Be it with the ball or with the bat, Jadeja has been struggling badly with his form and hasn’t been able to live up to his reputation of being one of the best all-rounders in the cricket world.

Ravindra Jadeja

Meanwhile, CSK’s head coach Stephen Fleming was asked about Jadeja after CSK’s defeat against RCB on Wednesday. Talking about his form, Fleming said that he isn’t concerned about Jadeja’s form. He said:

“I am not concerned, T20 game can be tough. When you are batting at No. 5 or No. 6, you don’t get a lot of time to get the tempo or rhythm right. We will look at it now and work out what the best order will be going forward, but no I am not concerned about his form,”

He added:

“I think we’ve been off in all departments, really, just off. You don’t have to be far off to get hurt in this competition, and our fielding as well at times, the catches we’ve dropped is of concern so, but we’re not far away.”

Chennai’s campaign in the tournament has been very disappointing. The team is currently sitting at 9th position in the points table, with 6 points, having won only 3 games off the 10 games they have played so far. Talking about CSK’s performance, he said:

“In a lot of games you could say we were really close to winning them and had it taken away or we weren’t quite good enough to get across the line, but that’s usually the story of the competition if you’re just off in your key parts of your game. So I think all three of them have just been below par.”

“We haven’t had the runs quantity that we need and we’ve just lacked some wickets and some penetration at times. We’ve lost some bowlers also, you’ve got to acknowledge that, but yeah, we’ve just been off,”

CSK will now lock its horns against Delhi Capitals on Sunday at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
