Virat Kohli’s Reaction After Controversial LBW Dismissal In Tour Game Has Gone Viral

Virat Kohli Left Disappointed After Controversial LBW: India had a poor and worrisome start to their England 2022 tour as they lost five wickets in the first session and were 7 down by Tea in the warm-up game vs Leicestershire at Grace Road, Leicester on Thursday.

It was Wrexham-born pacer, 21-year-old Roman Walker who ran through the star-studded Indian batting line-up taking 5 of those first 7 wickets to fall, and, by the end of the second session, whose figures read: 10-5-21-5!

He gobbled up Rohit Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and with Shardul Thakur’s wicket claimed his five-for. That Walker has never played a single first-class game, at any level, is astonishing given he dismissed some of the best in the world in his spell today.

Virat Kohli argues with the umpire after controversially given out lbw

Virat Kohli was conspicuously taken by surprise, and perhaps upset, on being given out lbw to Roman Walker’s delivery that swung away. He departed for 33 runs.

A full-length delivery from the seamer swung away from Kohli who went for an expansive on drive but failed to connect it, beaten by the movement in the air and off the surface by Walker’s delivery which then brushed his pad.

The bowler and all the nearby fielders confidently went up for the appeal while Kohli stepped away from the stumps. The umpire took his time but eventually raised his finger which left Kohli shocked.

The former Indian skipper gesticulated, questioning the umpire before going down to have a word with the decision-maker. The umpire explained himself and asked Kohli to go back and at once the batsman was on his way to the dressing room.

Here, watch Kohli’s dismissal:

Some fans suggested that the impact was outside the off-stump. But since there is no Hawk-eye for the warm-up game, this will remain controversial and we’d never know whether Kohli was indeed hit within the line or outside it as the video quality also isn’t of the best standards.
