3 Cricketers Who Made Their Debut In 1990s But Are Still Active

Over these years, the game of cricket has changed completely. Most of the modifications in the game gave it a global reach and made it a raging phenomenon, especially in the subcontinent.

There have been a number of cricketers, who made their debut in the final part of the last millennium and had long and glorious careers. Although, most of them have retired but a handful of them are still active in international cricket.

1. Chris Gayle:

40-year-old, Chris Gayle, one of the most destructive batsmen of the West Indies cricket team. He is fondly called as ‘Universe Boss” because of his explosive batting. Chris Gayle made his international debut against the Indian cricket team in Toronto on 11th September 1999.

During his glorious career, he played 103 Tests matches, 300 ODIs and 52 T20Is for his team. Though the explosive batsman has retired from ODIs and Tests, but he is still a part of the T20 format team.

2. Harbhajan Singh:

Harbhajan Singh, who is regarded as one of the finest spinners to have played for team India, is also one of the active players who made their debut in the 90s. Harbhajan Singh made his international debut against New Zealand on 17th April 1998.

After that Harbhajan Singh went on to play 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is, during which he picked 417, 269, and 25 wickets respectively. Though Bhajji played his last international match on 3rd March 2016, but he hasn’t taken retirement from the game.

3. Shoaib Malik:

3 Cricketers Who Made Their Debut In 1990s But Are Still Active

Former Pakistan’s skipper and star all-rounder Shoaib Malik is also one of the active cricketers who made his debut in the 90s. Shoaib Malik made his international debut on 14th October 1999 against Sharjah ODI against West Indies.

During his glorious career, he played 35 Tests, 287 ODIs, and 113 International T20s. Though Shoaib Malik retired from ODIs and Tests but he is still active in the T20 format.
