Over the years, the Indian cricket team has produced several outstanding cricketers. From Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid to MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, these legendary cricketers have given many brilliant performances and have taken the Indian cricket team to new heights.

However, there are a few cricketers who created a name for themselves with only one memorable performance. These cricketers have played the most memorable knocks for the team India but were unlucky to not get more opportunities.

Here, we bring you a list of 3 Indian cricketers who are famous for only one performance. Have a look:

1. Stuart Binny:

Unlike his father Roger Binny, Stuart Binny didn’t have a great start to his career. Though he got many chances to represent the men in blue but he failed to perform in most of them. However, during his career, he gave a memorable performance, which is still regarded as his best performance to date.

Well, his moment to create an impression came during the third ODI match against Bangladesh at Mirpur, where he produced one of the best bowling figures by an Indian cricketer in ODIs.

During the game, Suresh Raina led the side was shot out for just 105 with Taskin Ahmed picking up five wickets and everyone thought that the Bangladeshi tigers will win the match. However, Binny had other plans as he turned the tables for his team by picking up 6 wickets for just 4 runs.

The wickets of Bangladesh’s cricket team were bundled up and Stuart Binny had created history by producing one of the best figures in the ODI cricket. Though Stuart Binny is a regular feature in the domestic circuit and in the Karnataka Premier League, he didn’t get more opportunities to represent India.

2. Manoj Tiwary:

Another cricketer who didn’t get consistent run in the Indian cricket team is Manoj Tiwary. He was selected only in a second-string side.

After his debacle in his ODI debut match against Australia in Brisbane in the year 2008, he was consistently ignored by the selectors. However, he got his opportunity in the year 2011 and he made it count by giving a memorable performance.

It happened during the final ODI match of the 5-match series in Chennai and team India were reeling at 1 for 2. However, Manoj Tiwary walked in to bat and turned the fortunes for team India. He scored a brilliant century (104 retd hurt). He took the Indian cricket team to a competitive total India wins the match by 34 runs. But despite his amazing performances, he wasn’t given opportunities in the subsequent matches.

3. Joginder Sharma:

Joginder Sharma’s heroics during the 2007 T20 World Cup made him a household name in India. He gave a brilliant performance and helped India win the tournament. For the same reason, he was appreciated and praised by the Indians and the ICC.

This happened during his final over heroics in the ICC World T20 final in 2007, when team India only needed 13 runs to defend off the last over against Pakistan, and this is when MS Dhoni decided to bring Joginder Sharma in the scene. In the second ball of the over, Pakistan’s Misbah ul Haq struck a six, however, responding to this Joginder Sharma took his wicket off the very next delivery.

Currently, Joginder Sharma currently serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police. As the whole country is currently under the lockdown, the cricketer was spotted fulfilling the duties of a cop at this crucial time.
