Virender Sehwag retired from cricket a few years ago as every cricket fan misses him on the field. The right-handed batsman had a trademark style of beginning the innings with a boundary. However, after his retirement, no other player has been able to achieve that feat consistently. Sehwag’s aggressive nature of playing made him a unique batsman.

The Delhi-based player revolutionized ODI cricket with his beautiful batting. He created several records during his emphatic career. While the modern era players have broken some of his records, here are the top 3 records of Virender Sehwag that will never be broken.

Two 300s and a five-wicket haul in Test cricket

Many fans underestimated Virender Sehwag as an all-rounder, but the truth is that he is the only player in the world with two triple hundreds and a five-wicket haul to his name in Test cricket. Sehwag scored his triple centuries against Pakistan and South Africa in 2004 and 2008, respectively. He also took a five-wicket haul against Australia in the Delhi Test of 2008.

Most runs in a single day of Test by an Indian batsman

Virender Sehwag holds the national distinction of scoring 284 runs in a single day of a Test match. No other Indian player has played so aggressively as Sehwag in the red ball arena. Viru achieved this feat against Sri Lanka in 2009 at Mumbai. He scored 284 runs on the 2nd day of the Test and lost his wicket for 293 the next day. Although he missed out on a triple hundred, Sehwag entertained everyone with his knock.

Fastest 300 in Tests

Virender Sehwag has had a special connection with triple hundreds in Test cricket. His triple century against South Africa in Chennai is the fastest one in international cricket history. Sehwag raced to the milestone playing just 278 deliveries. He departed at the score of 319, and India took a giant lead after South Africa scored 540 runs on the board.
