The popularity of cricketers has grown tremendously over the last few years, especially in India. Some foreign cricketers like AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, Kane Williamson, and several others have more Indian followers than from their local country. As the popularity of the sport has gone up, the media attention that the cricketers have received has also increased.

During the COVID-19 era, it has become a common thing to see cricketers appearing on Instagram live, Facebook live, and even YouTube videos. Before the lockdown period, the press conference and candid interviews were the first choice. Often cricketers try to keep the atmosphere light in the media room. Rohit Sharma’s press conferences during the 2019 World Cup are the best example.

In this article, we will have a look at the five funniest statements ever made by cricketers.
