4 Indian Cricketers Who Played International Cricket For Other Nations

Domestic cricket is the stepping stone in every cricketer’s career. It lays the foundation of any cricket team and player. While there have been many cricketers, who went on to represent their country at the international level, on the other hand, there have been a few cricketers who played for one country in the domestic circuit and went on to play for another country at International level.

Here, we bring you a few cricketers who played for India in the domestic circuit and played at the international level for another country. Have a look:




4) Krishna Chandran:

during the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup match between Ireland and the United Arab Emirates at The Gabba on February 25, 2015 in Brisbane, Australia.

Krishna Chandran from Kerala started playing domestic cricket for Kerala and played for many years in the domestic circuit. However, when he didn’t get the chance to move ahead from domestic cricket, Krishna turned to UAE and managed to play from there and so far, he has played 12 ODIs for UAE.

3) Swapnil Patil:




Swapnil Patil played in domestic cricket for a long time and he used to play for Maharashtra in India’s domestic circuit. However, after playing for a long time, when he couldn’t move further, he decided to turn to the UAE as he managed to play in T20Is and ODIs there.

2) Munis Ansari:

Munis Ansari is another player who used to play for India in the domestic circuit but went on to play for another country at the international level. Munis continued to play for Madhya Pradesh for a long time and he was looking forward to playing for team India. However, after seeing no such opportunity, Munis traveled to Oman and was very successful in playing international cricket.

1) Jeet Raval:

Jeet Raval, the opener of the New Zealand cricket team is a part of the Test team. Though he might not be a part of the current NZ cricket team but he has been handling the Test cricket for the New Zealand team for a long time now. However, not many know that he was born in Ahmedabad and used to play in India’s domestic circuit.
