4 Players We Missed Out In IPL 2020 Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

Last updated:

IPL2020: Every year we get to see some new faces in the Indian Premier League (IPL), both from India as well as overseas and that’s the beauty of the IPL. It gives young cricketers the exposure of playing at the highest level and the feel of what it’s like to play under extreme pressure situations.

Many young cricketers, over the years, have actually been able to break open the door of their respective national teams with their performances in the IPL.

If IPL 2020 had taken place as per the schedule, we could have had the opportunity to see many young players in action for the first time in the IPL.

Here are the 4 players we missed to see for the first time in IPL due to corona-

Ravi Bishnoi

Bishnoi made a name for himself in the U19 World Cup held last year where he emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

It was not just the no. of wickets that Bishnoi got; the skills that he displayed in the tournament caught everyone’s eyes. He bowled at the right pace for a leg spinner and managed to turn the ball both ways.

Bishnoi was expected to earn an IPL contract on the back of his U19 World Cup performances and nobody was surprised when Kings XI Punjab bought him in IPL 2020 auction.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal was another player who impressed one and all in the U19 World Cup, but he was on the radar of the IPL franchises even before the U19 World Cup because of his performances in List “A” cricket for Mumbai.

Yashasvi is not only an explosive top-order batsman; he bowls very useful part-time leg-spin as well and could have proved to be really handy for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020.

Tom Banton

Tom Banton has not played that much of international cricket yet, but he has already made a name for himself with his performances in the T20 leagues around the world.

Banton, who resembles the former England batsman Kevin Pietersen with his batting style, has got an array of strokes all around the ground. The fact that he can generate a lot of power in his shots to go with his skills makes him lethal.

He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2020 auction.

Fabian Allen

Fabian Allen is a player who is a lot like Ravindra Jadeja. He is very agile in the field and can contribute with both bat and ball. However, he is more of a batting all-rounder as compared to Jadeja who is a bowling all-rounder.

Allen, who is a regular member of the West Indies T20 set-up, had to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020.
