As the 13th Season of the IPL comes closer, the excitement starts to rise. All the teams have landed in the UAE and will start training in a week. Even though there won’t be any crowds allowed in the stadium this could be the most followed IPL because of the current situation. Talking about the IPL, it has been a great platform for youngsters. Every year we see new talent coming in, performing well, and then getting selected at a higher level. It is always fun to watch young talent come good. People are always excited to see young talent. These emerging players are the future superstars for the game.
So, let’s have a look at four youngsters who can win the Emerging Player Award.
- Kartik Tyagi – RR
Kartik Tyagi was part of the Indian U19 side which ended up as the runners up in the ICC U19 Cricket World. Tyagi is a fast bowler who is pretty handy with the bat as well. He can clock speeds above 140 KMPH consistently which is a good sign for Indian cricket.
In the U19 World Cup, he picked up 11 wickets in 6 games at an average of 13.91. Tyagi will be playing for Rajasthan Royals in this season. RR has always backed young talent and if they back him he has the potential to win the Emerging Player Award.
- Tom Banton – KKR
Tom Banton has been the young international sensation for a while now. In the last season of the BBL, he smashed 223 runs in 7 games at an average of 176.98. He smashed 5 sixes in an over while playing for the Brisbane Heat.
He recently played for England and made a half-century against Ireland. He has the experience of playing in UAE due to the T10 league. His batting style is made for the shortest format and if he gets the right exposure, he can make it big. It won’t come as a surprise if he wins the emerging player award.
- Ravi Bishnoi – KXIP
Ravi Bishnoi was the leading wicket-taker in the U19 World Cup while was held in January and February. He picked up 17 wickets in just 6 games with his wrist spin. He bought India back in the game by picking up four quick wickets in the Final.
He has a great googly in his armory. With Ashwin being traded, KXIP needed a spinner to team up with Mujeeb. Bishnoi can fit that role perfectly. Bishnoi has the potential to pick up a lot of wickets and win the Emerging Player Award in this year’s IPL.
- Yashwasvi Jaiswal – RR
The Rajasthan Royals team management was really happy when the got Jaiswal in the Auction. He was the leading run-scorer in the U19 World Cup where he scored 400 runs in 6 matches at an average of 133.33. The RR team management is backing this young guy because he has a lot of talent.
Not only that but he also seems to have a good head on his shoulders. If he gets to play all 14 games, then he can make a mark and do something really special. He has a very high chance of winning the Emerging Player Award this year.
