1) The most number of bowled – Rahul Dravid:

Not a fact that everyone would be aware of, but in the history of test cricket, it is Rahul Dravid who has been dismissed the most number of times bowled. The Wall has been breached a record 54 times in the game, more than any other batsman. During the first half of his career as an Indian batsman, the legend was dismissed 26 times, mainly because of his evolution as a batsman. In the latter half, especially towards the end of his career, he was dismissed bowled 9 times out of 13.

Over the period that cricket has evolved, there have been plenty of batsmen who have earned the sobriquet of big hitters. One such player who you would not remotely associate with batting is Wasim Akram. However, a surprising fact is that Akram has hit the most number of sixes in a test innings in the history of the game. Akram smashed a wonderful 257 against the Zimbabwe team in 1996 – an innings that had 12 sixes in total. Wow!

That’s right! One of the greatest attacking batsmen to have ever played the game, Jayasuriya also has more wickets than many of the specialist bowlers. During his long and illustrious career, he has managed to get 323 wickets in 445 matches, a record that is better than even Shane Warne, who is considered to be one of the greatest bowlers in the game.  Warne managed an impressive 293 wickets in 194 matches but that is no match for Jayasuriya.

4) Gifting yourself a hat-trick:

Peter Siddle is one bowler who gifted himself the perfect birthday present in the form of a hat-trick.  On his 26th birthday on 25th November, 2010, he picked up the wickets of Alastair Cook, Matt Prior and Stuart Broad and registered the 38th hat-trick at that point of time in the history of Test cricket. Talk about feeling lavish on a birthday!
