Today, T20 has become such an important format that there are players who have evolved as T20 specialists. These players play the shorter format of the game more often than the traditional format and this has caused them to have averages that are higher in the shorter format than the longer one. In the last 10 years, we have seen many international cricketers cut down on intentional cricket and play more T20 cricket in domestic T20 leagues around the world.

Here are 5 players who have a better T20I averages than Tests:

Suresh Raina:

Raina is one of the best Indian T20s players and has made his mark in the shorter format of the game. He has a better record in that format, having an average of 29.70 when compared to his Test average of just 26.48.

Andrew Symonds:

Andrew Symonds is one of the most powerful hitters of the cricket ball and was always known to be a heavy hitter. This extended into his T20 career too, as his average in this format is 48.14 compared to the Test number of 40.61.

The New Zealander is another popular player in the shorter format of the game and has a T20I average of 34.73 and is a big draw in the biggest T20 leagues around the world. He is an average Test player with an average 29.38.

JP Duminy:

India’s new captain is a brilliant player across all formats and this is reflected in his averages in Tests and T20s, which are both extremely good. He averages just shy of 50 in Tests, with an average of 49.55 and 53 in T20Is.
