5 Batsmen Who Have Scored Most No. Of Sixes Against RCB

The 13th season of the IPL is less than a month away and all the teams are getting ready for it. Royal Challengers Bangalore who hasn’t won the IPL even once, has reached UAE and currently serving the seven-day quarantine. The debate around the South African players has been solved as ABD, Chris Morris and Dale Steyn have reached UAE by a special chartered flight.
Talking about RCB, they have always struggled due to their death bowling. Every year we see their death bowlers leaking runs and losing games which they should have won. They are one of the teams that concede a lot of sixes. One of the reasons for that is the small Chinnaswamy stadium. It is very easy to clear the rope in Bangalore which makes life difficult for their bowlers.
So, let’s have a look at the five players who have smashed most sixes against RCB.

  1. Rohit Sharma – 30 sixes

The Indian opener has smashed 30 sixes against RCB. We all know what Rohit Sharma is capable of. Once he bats for 5-6 overs and if he gets going then there is no stopping him. The Mumbai Indians captain has seven half-centuries against the Virat Kohli led team in just 26 games. 30 sixes in 26 games is a decent number and with that many sixes, Rohit Sharma is fifth on this list.

  1. Brendon McCullum – 30 sixes

Brendon McCullum started the IPL by smashing all the RCB bowlers to all the parts of the park. He smashed 158* off 73 balls in the first IPL game, playing for KKR against RCB. He started his IPL career by hitting 13 sixes against RCB.

Overall, the Kiwi opener has smashed 30 sixes in just 15 games against the IPL team which he played for before retiring from the IPL. He averages above 40 and has a strike-rate close to 150 against RCB which is great.

Even though Brendon McCullum has the same number of sixes he has hit them in fewer number of matches and hence he is fourth on this list.

  1. Andre Russell – 32 sixes

Andre Russell single-handedly destroyed the RCB attack last year. In a game where KKR needed more than 50 in the last three overs, he smashed 48 off just 13 balls which included 7 sixes! 42 off his 48 runs came in just sixes! Last year in the second game against RCB, he threatened them to chase an impossible-looking total as he smashed 65 off 25 balls which included 9 sixes.
Russell has smashed 32 sixes in just 9 games against RCB which is insane! If he gets going this year then RCB bowlers might need to find a hiding place.

  1. David Warner – 36 sixes

The Australian opener who is considered as a run machine in the IPL has smashed 36 sixes in 15 matches against RCB. Warner scores against everyone but against RCB he has an average above 50 with a strike-rate more than 165. He even scored a century against RCB in the last year’s IPL.
Warner is someone who you want to get out quickly but if you don’t you know he is in for a big score and especially against RCB.

  1. MS Dhoni – 45 sixes

MS Dhoni against RCB has always been special to watch. Every year we see, MSD smacking all the bowlers out of the ground. In 2018, he was smashing the likes of Mohammad Siraj, Corey Anderson, whereas in 2019 he smacked Umesh Yadav in the last over. In 27 matches, Dhoni has hit 45 sixes with the highest score of 84 not out which came in 2018.
Once again, this year Dhoni will be ready to smash all the RCB bowlers outside the stadium.
