IPL 2017 is almost at the knockout stages and as always, some players have really stepped up to the plate when called upon. However, even as most didn’t expect it, certain players have not lived up to their tag and have disappointed. The likes of Tymal Mills and Chris Gayle  and many other big tag players have had a very a disappointing tournament.

Here is a list of 5 biggest disappointments of IPL 2017 so far:

5. Corey Anderson (Delhi Daredevils)

The big New Zealander was expected to bolster a Delhi Daredevils batting lineup but so far this year has not delivered. In 6 innings, he has scored only 61 runs at an average of just 20.33. To see Delhi floundering at the foot of the table is a clear indicator.

4. Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

The T20 legend was supposed to continue with his business as usual – plundering sixes all over but this has not been the case.  In 6 innings, he has scored just 152 runs at an average of 25.33. Not even close to the levels expected of him.

3. Kagiso Rabada (Delhi Daredevils)

Much was expected from the South African pacer for the Delhi Daredevils, but he hasn’t lived up. In 4 matches, he has taken just 3 wickets at an average of 42.33.

2. AB De Villiers (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Not a name you’d expect to see in any worst list but circumstances at RCB have been such that AB has only managed 196 runs in 7 innings, of which nearly 85 runs came in one game. ABD will come back strongly next year, but for now, he is a flop for this edition of IPL.

1. Karun Nair (Delhi Daredevils)

The 300-run maker for India has flattered to deceive in this year’s IPL, scoring just 128 runs in 8 innings so far as Delhi Daredevils have once again failed to make any sort of impact. He will be looking to improve upon his average of 16 next year round.
