The first major T20 league, since the Covid-19 pandemic, Caribbean Premier League, is all set to start from today and the fans are as excited as they can get. As the fans are excitedly waiting for the league to begin, here, we bring you some of the cricketers who will grab all the limelight with their amazing performances.
Here, we bring you, 5 cricketers, to look out for in CPL 2020:
5. Chris Lynn – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:
After playing for Jamaica Tallawahs, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and Trinbago Knight Riders, Chris Lynn will now be seen playing for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Australian batsman Chris Lynn, who impressed one and all with his explosive stroke-play. Chris Lynn boats of a lethal strike rate of 144.15 in the shortest format of the game. Chris Lynn, who can turn any match to a victory with his amazing performance, will aim to make a strong impact especially after he was released by Kolkata Knight Riders last year.
4. Oshane Thomas – Jamaica Tallawahs:
Oshane Thomas, the 23-year-old young pacer was among the 5 retained players by Jamaica Tallawahs this season. Oshane made his CPL debut in the year 2017 but made waves in the next edition when he emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker in the season with 18 wickets in 10 matches. Oshane boasts an enviable repertoire and he is being rooted as a vital cog this season. Thomas will be definitely itching to make a mark in this season as well.
3. Jason Holder – Barbados Tridents:
Jason Holder recently impressed one and all with his heroics in the recently concluded series between England and West Indies. He displayed the true potential of leading his team to victory. The 28-year-old star has been signed up by Barbados Trident for CPL 2020. It will be interesting to see if he is able to carry his form in CPL as well.
2. Ross Taylor – Guyana Amazon Warriors:
Ross Taylor is one of the most experienced cricketers in the CPL. After a break of last year, Taylor will be hoping to make an impact this year, playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors. Ross Taylor has played 4 seasons with CPL, where he has scored 724 runs with an average of 31.5 in 36 matches.
1. Pravin Tambe – Trinbago Knight Riders:
This is going to be one of the most inspiring stories in cricket history as 48-year-old Indian-born Pravin Tambe will be making his debut in CPL 2020. He will be seen playing for Trinbago Knight Riders. He is also the first-ever Indian cricketer to bag a CPL contract.
Pravin Tambe impressed everyone with his brilliant performances with the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals(2013-2015). He was also a part of Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
