Cricket has attracted a lot of fans all around the world. When you have a dream to play cricket for your country, you should work hard since your childhood. You have to give up your studies to continue playing cricket or else you have to give up your dreams to continue studying.

But, it is not an easy job for students to continue their studies while also playing professional sports. There are several cricketers who left studies to chase their dreams. However, there are few cricketers who give equal importance to both the studies and cricket.

#5 Riyan Parag:

The young cricketer, Riyan Parag, who was a part of U-19 World Cup-winning team in 2018, got an IPL contract from Rajasthan Royals in 2019 season. He could play 7 games and scored 160 runs at a strike-rate of 127. In one of the matches, he played a match-winning knock of 49 off just 31 balls while chasing a difficult target against Kolkata. In a recent interview, he has said that he went on to attend his 12th board exams after the conclusion of the Ranji Trophy match.

The 16-year-old opener, Shafali Verma was in tremendous form during the T20 Women’s World Cup this year. She was the highest run-getter for her team. At a young age, she could smash the best bowlers of the world. In a recent interview, she said that she had to miss her 10th board exams due to the U23 cricket tournament, but she wants to give the exam the next year.

Amelia Kerr shocked the world when she registered the highest individual score in Women’s ODI history. Kerr, who made her international debut in 2016, smashed 232 runs against Ireland in 2018. She could chip the wickets with her leg-spin which is her main job. She is currently doing a BA degree in education and sociology. She is expected to continue her studies even if she gets touch cricket schedule in future.

#2 Ravichandran Ashwin:

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the most successful bowlers the country has ever produced. He has the ability to confuse the batsmen with his off-spin and carrom balls. He made his first-class debut in 2006 at the age of 19. He was doing B.Tech in SSN College of Engineering. He was a key member of his state, but it did not affect his studies. After he graduated with a B.Tech degree, he could make his international debut in 2010.

Prithvi Shaw took the world cricket by a storm when he led his country to win the U19 World Cup in 2018. The Mumbai cricketer went on to play the IPL for Delhi Capitals. He has great numbers in domestic cricket. As he was representing the U19 Indian team, he had to miss his 12th board exams. But, he has said that he would give exams next year. As he planned, he finished his exams and joined the college as well.
