The India-Australia series is upon us and it promises to be a cracking series with both sets of players at the top of their game. The Indian team are coming off the back of a big win against the Sri Lankans.
The Australians will be looking to capitalise on whatever chances they get. However, the Indians look invincible at the moment and here are five players to watch out for:
Jasprit Bumrah:
Bumrah made his debut against the Aussies last year and ended it on a successful note, picking up wickets as India managed to become the first team ever to whitewash Australia in a series at their home.
Over the next year and a half, Bumrah has improved his bowling to an extent that he is considered one of the best death bowlers in the game. He will look to get in and trouble the Australians.
Virat Kohli:
Kohli is always one player who seems to have no limits to the targets that he sets himself. His fantastic form this year has seen him become the number one limited overs batsman in the game and he doesn’t look close to relinquishing that position.
The Indian captain always raises his standards against the Australians in limited overs cricket and it is going to be fun to see how much runs he manages this time round.
Manish Pandey:
Pandey seems to have found a new lease of life after being sidelined with injury in the first half of the year. He ended the Sri Lanka series in good form and will look to carry that momentum onto this series as well.
The batsman scored his first international century against the Australians only and knows all about their opposition.
MS Dhoni:
Dhoni is another player who has managed to raise his level for the big occasion and he will look to punish the Australians, both from behind and in front of the stumps. The legend will look to get some of those quickfire stumpings and run-outs to put them under pressure.
He is also someone who can soak up the tension and then go on the charge towards the last paet of the innings as a batsman.
Rohit Sharma:
The opening batsman is also in tremendous form at the moment and will look to smash the Australians right from the start. He is unstoppable once he gets going and the Aussies will look to get him out within the first few overs.
Sharma knows all about the Australians, having scored a double century against them previously. His classy batting will be looked forward to.
