5 mistakes made by the producers of MS Dhoni’s biopic

MS Dhoni’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ has made close to Rs 100 crore in its first week and it is still going strong at the box office. Sushant Singh Rajput has given a brilliant performance and the director Neeraj Pandey made sure that the fans don’t get bored in spite of the movie running for over three hours.

But, there are few things that the makers of MS Dhoni’s biopic didn’t show in the movie. MS Dhoni keeps a very low profile off the field and this is the reason why his fans are excited to watch the ‘untold’ story. The overall feedback has been very good but there are some issues that fan believe should have been shown in the movie.

The Cricket Lounge’s Sameer Bharti lists 5 mistakes made by makers of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story

1) There’s no mention of MS Dhoni’s elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni.

MS Dhoni is not very close to his elder brother Narendra. Narendra Dhoni himself said in an interview to Telegraph that he hasn’t made any contribution in Dhoni’s career and they have never been close. But a little mention about what went wrong between Dhoni’s family and his brother would have added more value to the ‘untold’ story.

2) It would have been a great spectacle for the fans to see how MS Dhoni and Team India celebrated their big victories.

Fans are always curious to know what happens in the dressing and how their favourite players celebrate off the field. The producers of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story didn’t give any insight into what happens in the dressing room.

3) CAPTAIN COOL! How MS Dhoni remains so cool?

MS Dhoni’s biggest strength is his ability to stay cool and calm under pressure situations. This quality has helped Dhoni in both the aspects of his game; batting and captaincy. The movie showed Dhoni’s tourney from a small town boy to one of the biggest superstars in India but there was no mention of how he manages to stay cool and calm during high pressure situation and where did he learn this skill from.

4) Who were those three senior players?

Just like his cricketing career, MS Dhoni’s biopic is also free of controversies. When the first trailer of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story was released fans were very excited to know who were the three ‘senior’ players MS Dhoni didn’t want in his team in Australia. But, much to the disappointment of the fans, there is no mention of who those three senior players were.

5) The Chennai Super Kings saga

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first 7 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In 2015, CSK was banned for 2 years for conflict of interest and its Team Principle Gurunath Meiyappan was caught in spot fixing. There is no mention of MS Dhoni’s association with Chennai Super Kings and why it fell apart. There is just one seen in which Sushant Singh Rajput signs the deal and does a press conference as CSK’s captain.
