Ranji Trophy is the elite domestic cricket competition when it comes to Indian cricket. The prestigious tournament has teams participating from all over the country. The topmost domestic names of the Indian cricket world play in that tourney, and Ranji Trophy has given several talented players to the Indian team over the years.

To gain a place in the national side, the players need to impress in the first-class tournament. Some players simply dominated that format, and here’s a look at the five players with unbelievable feats in Ranji Trophy history.

Ravi Shastri’s 6 sixes in an over

To hit six sixes in an over is an incredible achievement in any form of the game. However, in the longer formats, the batsmen do not prefer to play aggressively. Ravi Shastri defied the odds and scored 36 runs off an over in January 1985.

Pregmanshu Chatterjee’s 10/20 vs. Assam

To take even five wickets in an innings is a considerable achievement for a bowler. However, back in 1956, Bengal’s medium pacer Pregmanshu Chatterjee took all ten wickets against Assam, recording the magical figures of 10/20.

Rajinder Goel’s 750 wickets

One of the greatest players to have never played international cricket, Rajinder Goel, had an envious record in Ranji Trophy as the spin bowler scalped 750 first-class wickets in just 157 wickets at an economy rate of 2.10.

Bandeep Singh’s 15-ball half-century

As mentioned ahead, the batsmen do not play so aggressively in Ranji Trophy, but Bandeep Singh from Jammu and Kashmir once destroyed the Tripura bowling attack with a 15-ball fifty. He slammed six fours and four sixes in his epic cameo.
