Royal Challengers Bangalore has always been a star studded affair. On paper it has always looked the best T20 team one could ever dream of but this star value hasn’t added much to their fortunes.
RCB has some of the biggest T20 names in their line up and hence now when teams are only allowed to retain 5 players, RCB would be wondering as to who should stay and who shouldn’t.
Here are the 5 players the RCB should and must retain.
1. Virat Kohli
Keeping him or not is not even a question. He’s the number 1 ODI and T20 Batsman of the world, can defeat any opposition all alone and is the captain of the national side across formats. RCB wouldn’t even be considering letting Kohli go for even a nano second.
2. AB De Villiers
He’s a high impact player and one of the most dangerous batsmen in the modern day cricket. What ABD can do, no one else can and just like Kohli being let go isn’t a question for the RCB we sense that the same would apply even for AB De Villiers. ABD can literally destruct any bowling line up in the world and he’s just the kind of player that you’d want to have without doubt.
3. Lokesh Rahul
Lokesh Rahul has shown good character in the limited overs format as well as test cricket. He’s an explosive batsman and can shift gears whenever wanted. He’s been seen wicket keeping for the RCB in the last season and also opening the batting. Given his talent and performance in the last year or two he should be retained.
Rahul has disappointing seasons with the Sunrisers Hyderabad after which he moved to the RCB in 2016 which also happens to be his home team. KL Rahul has now become a regular feature of the Indian squad too.
4. Yuzvendra Chahal

RCB is where the success story of this spinner started and now he finds himself in the Indian team. He was bought in 2014 by RCB for 1 million and has been of high utility for the RCB.
He’s been really economical in the shortest format of the game and most importantly has always picked crucial wickets. The leg spinner isn’t scared to toss the ball up and lure the batsman into the trap. He is a wicket taking bowler and is a must have.
5. Kedhar Yadav

Kedhar Yadav is an explosive batsman who can take the attack to the opposition anytime. He gives a great impact to the lower middle
order of the RCB and if needed he can chip in a few overs too. Kedhar Yadav has been featuring in the Indian colours in recent times and has performed decently.
