5 Players That Mumbai Indians May Choose In IPL 2022 Mega-Auction: Despite crashing out of the preceding edition before the play-offs, Mumbai Indians still has the most lethal monikers in their ranks.
With Rohit Sharma at the helm and Jasprit Bumrah being their destructor in chief, they chose to retain Pollard and SKY to take care of their middle order.
As they come to the auction with an already trimmed purse, it will be important that they keep their eyes open to sensible buys. One big buy can break their bank and that is something that will have to be a game-turner instead of being a show of mindless splurge.
In this story, we will take a look at five players who can be on Mumbai’s radar for the upcoming IPL 2022 Mega-Auction.
#1 Ben McDermott

With Chris Lynn, Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock all allowed to let go, Mumbai will need an opener to assist Rohit Sharma. McDermott was the leading run-scorer in the latest edition of the BBL where he managed to ensnare 571 runs at an average of 51.90 and a strike rate of 153.49. He is a terrific striker of the ball and can play in any position that the team would ask him to. He is a reliable batter in the upper half of an innings and can produce carnage of the first waters.
#2 Trent Boult
It is not a question of mindlessness if Mumbai chooses to bring back Boult. He is one of the most experienced campaigners in international cricket and can rack up some nasty swing. He is also a terrific fielder that will allow the Indians to have someone in the field cutting down on runs. His return to the side will allow Mumbai to reconcile the menacing pace duo of Bumrah and Boult that terrorized batters at will.
#3 Pat Cummins
If Boult cannot be bought, Mumbai would love to lay their hands on one of the best bowlers in the world right now even though his success was limited in the last two editions of the tournament. Pat Cummins returned modest figures considering his price but he still remained one of KKR’s best bets. He can swing the bat for a good deal and obviously can be a menace with the ball in his hands. Alongside that, he brings in the quality of leadership to the platter. Imagine a duo of Bumrah and Cummins breathing fire.
#4 Dinesh Bana
Even though it’s too early to say that the kid who won India the U19 World Cup just a day back will be attracting some massive bids. Yet, it is safe to say that there will be quite a few eyes on this young man to provide a furious tempo towards the tail-end of the pecking order. Most importantly, the kid has an affinity for performing under pressure and is considered as a pocket-sized dynamo in the ranks of youth cricket.
#5 Shakib al Hasan
People may not be really intrigued by the fact that an IPL team may be splurging on a receding all-rounder and yet the former Bangladesh captain produced gold for KKR in the latter stages of the tournament. He is a complete package and brings a boatload of experience in the middle-order. He can swing his way through any bowler if he gets going and most importantly, he can get you crucial wickets when you need him to end an important partnership. He is also an electrifying fielder that will allow the Indians to extend their iconic legacy.
