5 Times Ravichandran Ashwin Shut Down Trolls On Twitter Like A Boss

Ravichandran Ashwin will go down as one of the India’s greatest-ever players. The 36-year-old is already a legend in Test cricket with 449 Test wickets in 89 Tests and over 3000 runs in the format to go with 223 wickets in limited-overs internationals too.

While Ashwin remains a legend on the field, he’s as much of a savage off the field too. An engineer from Chennai, the all-rounder knows a number of ways to shut down trolls on social media, in particular on Twitter.

Ashwin roasts Daniel Alexandar

A couple of Sri Lankan journalists – Nibraz Ramzan and Daniel Alexander – are well-known for mocking and criticizing Team India every single day. And R Ashwin is clearly aware of it.

Ashwin bagged the Player of the Match award in India’s victory over Bangladesh in Dhaka. In the 4th innings run-chase, Ashwin was given a life by Mominul Haque who dropped Ashwin’s catch, after which he went on to play a match-winning knock.

Nibraz Ramzan tried to troll Ashwin saying he should give his POTM award to Mominul. In his reply, Ashwin roasted both the Sri Lankans who often take a dig at Team India.

“Oh no ! I thought I blocked you, oh sorry that’s the other guy. what’s his name?? Yes Daniel Alexander that’s the name !! Imagine what you both would do if India dint play cricket,” Ashwin tweeted, setting the fans ablaze.

I am the one whose got the records

Australia isn’t the favorite of the countries for spinners, but Ashwin has done well there in both Tests and T20Is.

Back in 2018, even before India had won their first Test series in Australia, a fan tried to troll Ashwin by asking his records in Australia. Asserting his status as a successful cricketer, Ashwin replied: “I am the one whose got the records, please go and take a look. I can’t Google you and find you.”

And before that, another one had trolled him saying he was hit for sixes even on big grounds in Australia, to which the champions off-spinner showed this fan his records.

Ashwin trolled Rajasthan Royals!

When it comes to the debate of running out of the non-striker, Ashwin didn’t spare IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals’ Twitter account too. While he was Punjab Kings in 2019, and had created a furore by running out RR opener Jos Buttler.

RR tried to take a dig at Ashwin by quoting a tweet with a box of balls with ‘Mankad’ written on them.

“Might well be a good collection for the non strikers who meander along. Good banter nevertheless wish you all a happy 2020,” Ashwin replied to RR, slamming them back savagely.

Incidentally, Ashwin now plays for RR.

Ashwin replies to a fan who was dissatisfied with his selection

“@ashwinravi99 ,Imnot satisfied about ur selection .need gud spinner only not batsman,” the fan wrote.

“I am also not satisfied with your English and grammar mistakes, what to do?Let’s accept each other’s drawback and co exist,” the cricketer responded.
