The IPL honors the batsman with the most runs with an Orange Cap and the bowler with the most wickets with a Purple Cap. But, the ILT20, the new T20 league in the UAE, made headlines recently for giving WWE-styled belts to players leading different charts.

Similarly, there have been a number of weird, unusual awards and trophies in cricket which the fans have laughed as well as been left astonished over.

Here are 5 of the weirdest awards in the cricket history:

5 WWE-style belts in ILT20

The ILT20 organizers, for some reason yet not known in the public, decided to introduce WWE-esque belts to award to their top performers in the tournaments. 5 different colors of belts are being awarded – Green Belt for the leading run-scorer, White Belt for the highest wicket-taker, Black Belt to the team that will win the tournament, Red Belt to the Man of the Tournament, and Blue belt to the best local/UAE player of the season.

Electrical Blender

England cricketer Luke Wright’s photo of receiving an electrical kitchen appliance, Blender, after winning the Player of the Match award in a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League game went viral. And why not? A Blender for an award to a cricketer. That went straight into Wright’s trophy, I mean Kitchen cabinet.

5 liters of petrol

What’s most valuable and more hilarious as an award than a blender? 5 litres of petrol. Considering the petrol prices hike in India, a cricket tournament organizers in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, gave 5 litres of petrol to the Player of the match.

Lawnmower

A Lawnmower – an award so funny, and unusual, that South African international fast bowler Makhaya Ntini couldn’t stop smiling. Instead of a cheque, or a bottle of whiskey, Ntini got a lawnmower in a 2003 game in Ireland, courtesy of the match sponsors Viking. Ntini, however, played smart here by exchanging the lawnmower for cash with the sponsors.
