The castle of Kohli’s milestones is getting taller with every innings. Its as if he has made a habit out of rewriting records and milestones to his name. His cap now has countless feathers and no one knows where is this stalwart batsman stopping at.

The Run Machine is redefining consistency and the way he adapts as per the style of every format, it is just amazing. So, today he again came out to bat, this time at his home ground and he reached another milestone. Kohli completed 5000 test runs today and he is now the fourth fastest Indian to reach 5000 test runs.
Not that we are much amazed at it because milestones and Kohli are just synonymous for us. Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper took 63 matches to reach 5000 test runs and if we break it down into innings then he achieved it in 105 innings.
Who is the fastest Indian but if Kohli is the fourth fastest? At the top of the list is the great Sunil Gavaskar who reached 5000 runs in just 95 innings followed by Sehwag who took 98 innings to reach here. Third on the list is Master Blaster with 103 innings for the milestone.
WHAT ABOUT OTHERS IN THE FAB 4?
6 Indian Batsman Who Reached 5000 Test Runs Faster Than Others
Fab Four is how batting in modern day cricket is defined these days. This elite group of the finest batsmen often called the ‘Fab Four’ include Kohli, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Joe Root. Other three on the list have already reached 5000 test runs but only Steve Smith has achieved the milestone faster than Virat Kohli.
Smith took just 97 innings, Root stands equally with Kohli and Kane Williamson took 110 innings to reach the above-mentioned set of runs.
