Jason Paul Behrendorff, the 27 year old quickie made the heavy duty Indian top order seem like a house of cards that couldn’t stand his storm. Jason Behrendorff made full use of the moist condition and broke the back of India’s batting order by taking 4 wickets in his first three overs.

Behrendorff dismissed Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey and Shikhar Dhawan and stunned the big crowd at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Assam.

Here are some lesser known facts about about the Australia speedster Jason Paul Behrendorff!

1. Jason Behrendorff hails from Canberra and is a right hand batsman but when it comes to bowling, he is a left armed quickie who stormed into the Indian top order in the second T20I of the ongoing series, at Guwahati.

2. He made his first class debut in the 2011-2012 with Western Australia in the Ryobi One Day  Cup.

3. He made his Big Bash League debut with the Sheffield Shield in 2012 but it was only in 2013-2014 season that he came to limelight for he claimed 40 wickets at an impressive average of 22.70.

4. At the end of the 2011-2012 domestic season he was conferred with the “Future Legend Award” at the Western Australian Cricket Association’s Awards Night.

5. In June 2014 he was picked up for the Australia A team that was to play a series of four-day matches against South Africa A side.

6. Jason Behrendorff holds a degree in sports science from the Edith Cowan University and he has worked for Hockey Australia previously.

7. He married hifiancé Juvelle Hatt in April 2014 and his younger brother Luke is a sportsman too and represents the Kangaroos in Handball.

8. Jason Behrendorff was conferred with the “Domestic Player of the Year Award” at the Allan Border Medal ceremony in the year 2014.

9. He made his international debut against India in the first T20 at Jhansi which was affected by rain.

The way he swings the ball is just so pleasing to watch and no matter if he is from the opposition but you still want to make him bowl and go on and on.

Jason Behrendorff has certainly knocked the door of international cricket more handsomely than he would have ever anticipated and now it would be interesting to see as to how long can, he keep this spark ignited.

He surely is up for a great competition to cement his place given the likes of other premier bowlers of Australia including Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Stark.
