A Pakistan journalist, Farid Khan, has been getting trolled by Indians left, right, and center on Twitter on Thursday after he declared that he will be boycotting the IND vs BAN match in the World Cup 2023.
This Lahore-based journalist, who often gets dragged on Twitter for his opinions and tweets, has been frequently expressing displeasure at the BCCI in recent weeks.
During Pakistan’s loss to India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the 130,000-strong crowd was filled with over 99 percent Indian supporters, Farid Khan expressed anger over the Ahmedabad crowd booing Pakistan captain Babar Azam and teasing Mohammad Rizwan with Jai Shree Ram chants.
He has now gained attention on Twitter for saying that he will boycott the IND vs BAN match and won’t watch it.
India will take on Bangladesh on Thursday at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
“Reminder: I’m boycotting today’s match between India and Bangladesh in Pune. No tweets on that match today. It’s time to take action,” Farid Khan tweeted on Thursday morning, the day of the IND vs BAN encounter.

Mohammed Shami likely to replace Shardul Thakur for IND vs BAN
Cricbuzz has reported that senior pacer Mohammed Shami is likely to replace Shardul Thakur for the IND vs BAN match. Thakur hasn’t had much of a bowl so far: he bowled 6 overs for 31 runs and one wicket against Afghanistan and then conceded 12 runs in 2 overs against Pakistan.
India reportedly believe that with their batting doing well, they can afford to drop Shardul Thakur and bring in specialist paceman in Mohammed Shami, who took 31 wickets in the last two ODI World Cups.
“See, honestly, it is never an easy decision. But I think the conversations are around, we had a clear chat with him. Whenever we select a squad, the message from us is very clear. That we pick a squad we feel is the best for that wicket. And I think sometimes you will miss out. Someone like him is missing out, someone like Ash will miss out,” India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey had said.
