Today, he was in an even more imperious mood as he clobbered Bangladesh for 90 runs in 49 balls. He thumped Bangladesh for 8 thunderous sixes and two fours. As a few days ago, he got another standing ovation from the Wankhede ground. Klaasen maintained a colossal strike rate of 183.
Quinton de Kock had started the attacking spree. The left-handed opener became the first South African batsman to notch up three centuries in an ODI World Cup. De Kock cracked 174 runs in 140 balls, creaming 15 fours and 7 sixes. Aiden Markram went to a half-century, scoring 60 runs in 69 balls.
Then came the marauders in Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. The pair smashed 65 runs in only 25 balls as Bangladesh had now answers to the two batters’ power-hitting. Miller remained not out on 34 runs in only 15 balls.

David Miller said: “It was a really good wicket, came in with 5 overs, I had no choice but to go after it. The slower ball sticks into the surface, otherwise this is a typical Mumbai wicket. We’ve played with each other for some time now, we know the roles of batters at 5, 6 and 7. It’s all about going out there and applying yourself to the task. We know what needs to be done. From my perspective, I think I’m maturing with age, the self belief is there and I’m going with the flow.”
