Our Indian cricketers receive a lot of love wherever they go. They enjoy a massive fan following not just in India, but around the world. From clicking pictures to autographs, — our cricketers also come across countless fan requests every day. However, many times the requests are so bizarre that our cricketers are left off-guard.
Recently, one such incident was experienced by Ishan Kishan, who was left shocked by a fan’s bizarre autograph request. Kishan, who recently impressed one and all with his batting heroics as he smashed a double century against Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI last week, was in his hometown in Ranchi, where he met a few of his fans. However, during his meeting, he encountered an awkward situation.
Well, what happened was a fan named Randhir Kumar, wanted Ishan’s autograph but he wanted the autograph on the back of his mobile phone, and what stumped the young batter was the fact the phone already had the signature of legendary batter MS Dhoni on it. Ishan Kishan, out of respect for MSD, mentioned that he couldn’t sign on the same space as the former Indian captain however the fan finally managed to have his way. Ishan was heard saying:
“Mahi bhai ka hai signature and he wants my autograph on top of his. I can’t do it. Let’s do one thing. Why take it on a phone. I would autograph it on some other nice thing,”
He added: “It will remain with you, but how will I sign on the same pace as Dhoni bhai? These are his signatures; How can I write anything on top of it?“
However, the fan was adamant about receiving a signature on the same phone cover where Dhoni had signed. After much deliberation, Ishan finally gave up and signed below Dhoni’s signature. He said: “We haven’t reached that level yet. I will sign below it? Alright. There you go.”
