Rohit Hasn’t Recovered Fully

Yes, as per a report by Cricbuzz, Rohit Sharma will remain unavailable for the second Test match as well, which will kickstart on December 22 in Mirpur. As per the report, with India having important matches ahead, BCCI and the selection committee have decided not to take any risks. The report further revealed that though Rohit is able to bat, however, the medical team remains concerned about the injury while fielding. Hence, Rohit will aim to be available for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which will begin on January 3. The series will consist of 3 T20Is and as many ODIs.

Shubman Gill To Open And KL Rahul To Lead

Meanwhile, now with Rohit ruled out of the Test match, the Indian side will stick with Shubman Gill as their opener for the 2nd Test. Shubman Gill opened for the Indian side and impressed one and all with his stunning performance in the 1st Test. He registered his maiden Test century in the second innings of the game. KL Rahul, who led the team in Rohit’s absence, will continue to don the captain’s hat.
