Wasim Jaffer Hilariously Trolls Hypocrisy Of Australian Commentators After Gabba Test Ends In 2 Days

South Africa captain Dean Elgar slammed the Gabba pitch, saying that he was even worried that the pitch was “potentially unsafe” after the first Test between Australia and South Africa in Brisbane ended inside 2 days, which Australia won by 6 wickets. This Test was part of the World Test Championship.

While Elgar raised qualms about the surface – that had loads of green and offered great amount of seam movement to the pacers, had extra, lethal bounce and even gave the balls vicious lateral deviations off the straight – Australia captain Pat Cummins shrugged it off saying: “No way, it was fine.”

This perhaps encapsulated the sentiments of the two parties: one that questioned the nature of the pitch that largely favored the bowlers producing a result inside two days and saw 34 wickets fall; and the other that turned their heads from the criticism of the surface and even endorsed it as great entertainment and a spectacle for Test cricket. You know who belong to the second section.

The same second section people – commentators and ex-cricketers from England and Australia, fans of these two countries who have had absolutely no problem with green surfaces and short Tests over the past few years – jump to the gun when a short Test match is being played on turning and slow and low pitches in Asian countries India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh where results.

There was severe criticism from this group of people – commentators, ex-cricketers, and fans – when England lost a the Ahmedabad pink ball Test to India last year inside two days. But now, there has barely been a word uttered against the Green Mamba prepared in Gabba.

Wasim Jaffer comes up with a hilarious meme on this pitch debate

Former India opener and a renowned social media personality who loves making memes, Wasim Jaffer came up with another hilarious meme to depict this hypocrisy of the media that often disparage the subcontinent turning tracks but hail the extremely pace-friendly pitches in England and Australia labeling it as “competitive”.

Wasim Jaffer posted this video and it brilliantly condensed the hypocrisy of the Aussie and English commentators when it comes to the pitch debate in Asia and elsewhere.

If a subcontinent Test would have finished in 2 days, the reactions would be quite different to say the least. #AUSvSA pic.twitter.com/yvcH0rWweL
