Even though KL Rahul’s own form has been dodgy and a big score has evaded him, under his captaincy, other Indian players have thrived in recent months.
The latest in this list of Indian players putting up good performances under Rahul’s captaincy are Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, and Cheteshwar Pujara, all of whom have made statement performances in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram.
Captain KL Rahul has been proven to be very lucky for many players

KL Rahul has been the deputy to Rohit Sharma and has led the side in his absence in several matches since last year.
While Rahul himself is searching for his three-figure score in international cricket for almost a year – his last hundred for India came in December in South Africa – other batters have broken their century droughts.
Virat Kohli broke his three-year barren century spell, ending the wait for his 71st international ton – and his maiden T20I ton – in the Asia Cup against Afghanistan with KL Rahul as the captain (Rohit was rested for that game). Kohli also hit his 72nd century – his first in ODIs in three years – recently against Bangladesh under Rahul’s captain with Rohit ruled out injured.
Sharma also missed the ongoing Chattogram Test, and Rahul took the leadership reins. Kuldeep Yadav, too, snapped his third Test five-wicket haul in Bangladesh’s first innings.
This was only Kuldeep’s second Test match since January 2019, when he took a five-for vs Australia at the SCG. In that same SCG Test, Pujara hit his last Test century, and now under KL Rahul, the India number 3 also broke his century drought after close to four years.
Before Pujara, Shubman Gill, earlier in the day, registered his maiden Test century, finally going past his previous highest Test score of 91, scored in that epic Gabba win back in early 2021.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul has had to applaud all these milestones that have occurred under his captaincy, but the opener is waiting for his own too.
