Pakistan captain Babar Azam has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after the Pakistan cricket team was officially out of the race to qualify for the World Test Championship final after suffering back-to-back defeats against England in the first two Tests of the ongoing 3-match series. Pakistan lost the series opener by 74 runs in Rawalpindi last week and then fell short by 26 runs in the second game. Though, they had a good chance to bounce back in the second game of the series however the batters failed to chase down the total and fell short by 26 runs.

In the second Test match, which was played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan captain Babar Azam failed with the bat once again as he was dismissed after scoring just 1 run from 10 balls in the second innings, for which he faced a lot of criticism. Several fans and experts have criticized his performances as he continues to struggle to score runs in pressure situations.

This isn’t the first time that Babar Azam has failed to perform when his side needed him the most. He has been going through a tough time with the bat. Time and again, he has been targeted by fans and former greats for the same reason. Last year, though his side managed to reach the finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 however, he was criticised throughout the tournament for not being able to contribute with the bat.

In the Test series against England, Babar has scored 216 runs in four innings of two Tests at an average of 54.00. The 3rd Test match between England and Pakistan is scheduled to be played at Karachi’s National Stadium from December 17 onwards.
