“For The First Time in 25 Years” – Team India Create An Unwanted Record

2022 continues to go from bad to worst for team India. After losing many important tournaments and series, the Indian cricket team suffered a new low in 2022 as they lost the 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh by 2-0 with a game to spare. After losing the series opener, the Indian cricket team lost the 2nd ODI match against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka by five runs on Wednesday.

This was India’s second successive defeat in an ODI series having also lost an away series to New Zealand last month. In fact, this was the first time in the last 25 years that the Men in Blue had lost three ODI series each in a calendar year. Yes, the Indian cricket team lost three ODI series in a calendar year for the first time in 25 years. 

Lost 3 ODI series in the year 2022

– 0-3 loss to South Africa
– 0-1 loss to New Zealand
– Trailing Bangladesh 0-2 (one match to spare)

Apart from these three ODI series, the Indian cricket team has failed to win two of the biggest tournaments — T20 World Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2022 this year.
