"Thank You For Getting Injured Hardik Pandya"

A day before India’s World Cup 2023 final match against Australia, the injured all-rounder Hardik Pandya posted a special video message for Team India, wishing their support for the grand finale of this tournament.

However, some fans in his comments section made some distasteful comments, thanking him for getting injured because that allowed Mohammed Shami to come into the XI. A few fans even said Hardik Pandya should be the Player of the Series and credited his injury to India’s success in the competition.

Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury in the Bangladesh game, the 4th match of Team India in the tournament. Losing the services of Hardik Pandya, a pace-bowling all-rounder, forced India to change their first-choice combination and bring in Shami and Suryakumar for Shardul and Pandya.

Shami has rocked the World Cup with his sensational bowling, and is the leading wicket-taker heading into the final with 23 scalps in only 6 games.

Some of the comments under Pandya’s post for Team India were unpleasant.

Check out some comments from the fans on Hardik Pandya’s video message for Team India:

Hardik Pandya shares heartfelt message for Rohit Sharma and team:

In his video message, Hardik said: “I could not have been more proud of this team. Everything that we’ve done so far has been credit to the years of hard work behind us. We are now one step away from glory, from doing something special that we’ve dreamt of since we were children.

“Lifting the cup not just for ourselves but the billion people behind us. Always with you with my love and all my heart. Now let’s bring the cup home. Jai Hind,” Pandya added.

Talking about Pandya’s injury, he is set to be laid off for a longer period than initially expected. Hardik Pandya will be missing the T20I series against Australia, starting November 23 at home. The series will mark the start of India’s preparation for the T20 World Cup 2024. Either Ruturaj Gaikwad or Suryakumar Yadav, of KL Rahul if he’s not rested, is likely to be named the captain for this T20I series.
