“If Making Negative Memes About Me..”: Chamika Karunaratne Shares Heartfelt Post After Losing 4 Teeth While Taking Catch

Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne suffered a brutal injury during a recent Lanka Premier League (LPL) match and lost 4 teeth while attempting a catch. Later, Chamika took to his social media and shared a selfie of himself, confirming that he indeed lost 4 teeth in the accident and had gotten 30 stitches because of the same. 

Karunaratne, who is playing for Kandy Falcons, suffered a rare injury while taking a catch during the match between Kandy Falcons and Galle Gladiators in the ongoing Lanka Premier League in Hambantota. 

The incident took place when Nuwanidu Fernando mistimed the shot and hit the ball straight in the air. Chamika took the catch while running behind from point, however, the ball fell on Karunaratne’s face and injured him in addition to breaking his four teeth. The cricketer was seen bleeding and immediately left the field to get surgery.

Later, on Thursday, Karunaratne took to his social media and confirmed the news and shared an update on his injury sharing a heartfelt post. The cricketer shared a short video of himself on Instagram Story, showing off his bruised face and explaining that he had 30 stitches to repair the damage. Sharing the video, he wrote: 

“Lost 4 teeth, got them back, got 30 stitches and I can still smile a little. I will be back stronger than ever with a smile in Pallekele, see you soon!”

Besides this Instagram story, Chamika also shared a lengthy post on his Instagram, thanking the hospital staff and doctors for their best efforts. In his Instagram post, he also expressed his thoughts about the viral memes making rounds on the internet. He said that if making negative reels on him is making people happy, he is fine with it.
