Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, penned a hard-hitting note regarding her deepfake pictures that she came across on social media platforms. Sara Tendulkar highlighted how social media is a double-edged sword as she finds herself at the center of a disturbing trend.

Sara Tendulkar addressed the issue of a fake account on X

Sara took to his Instagram and addressed the issue of a fake account on X, formerly Twitter, impersonating her, sharing deepfake pictures, and even engaging on X with her rumored boyfriend, Shubman Gill.

The Cricket Lounge Did A Fact-Check On This Picture

How it started?

An imposter account, @SaraTendulkar__, gained massive attention during the last few months. This imposter account has gained over 250 thousand followers. This account not only shared deepfake pictures of Sara but also went as far as sending texts to individuals close to her.

Of late, deepfakes have become a nuisance for people in the world of the internet. We at The Cricket Lounge tried to bring this matter to notice several times during the past few days by doing constant “FACT CHECKS” on our website to spread awareness about the ‘deep fakes‘ and ‘imposter accounts’ on X. Finally, Sara Tendulkar has herself addressed the big issue now.

Expressing her concerns about the misuse of technology, Sara wrote: “Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality,”

She added: “@SaraTendulkar__ on X(formerly Twitter) declares itself as parody but has obviously been created with an intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them.”

“Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let’s encourage communication that’s based in trust and reality,” she concluded.
