PAK vs ENG: 10 Best Memes On Pakistan’s Loss To England On Rawalpindi’s ‘Flat’ Pitch

Jatin KhandelwalBy Jatin Khandelwal05/12/2022Updated:09/02/2023No Comments3 Mins Read

Playing their first Test in Pakistan after 17 years, England produced one of the greatest-ever Test match victories on Monday in Rawalpindi on the pitch that might as well have been the national highway. Hail the Bazball, hail Ben Stokes and Bredon McCullum.

Pakistan, their captain Babar Azam, and the PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja have a lot of thinking to do. They are left staring in the abyss after losing the Test with about 20 minutes left for the end of the game. The game which they were happy to take as a draw – in order to have their batters score runs and please the home crowd while compromising crucial WTC points – by preparing as a flat and unresponsive pitch with nothing of a dint on it that the road contractors in Pakistan would want to hire the pitch curators.

Then came Bazball. Over 500 runs on day 1. 4 centurions from England in the first innings. 657 runs in 101 overs (run rate: 6.5) in England’s first innings.

Pakistan replied with 3 centuries of their own, including Babar Azam’s ton, and 579 runs but at a run rate of 3.72. England then play even more aggressively in their second essay: 264/7 declare in 35.5 overs, run rate – 7.36.

England’s give Pakistan a target of 343 runs – very much gettable on this pitch. Ben Stokes knows the risk that the hosts could even chase it down, but he prefers to dangle the carrot – for they will get wickets only when the batters play shots in pursuit of a gettable score.

Pakistan was 80/2 at the end of Day 4 leaving 263 runs for the last day. At lunch on Day 5, Pakistan was 169/3. Pakistan needed 174 in the last two sessions, but England, despite tiring bowlers, produced a spirited performance in the last two sessions to bowl Pakistan out for 268, 74 runs away from the target, and in the dying minutes of the day.

The trolling of Pakistan team, Babar and Ramiz has been incessant over the last 5 days. It exploded today with Pakistan losing the Test despite this flattest of the surfaces.

Here are the best memes and troll tweets on Pakistan team after losing Rawalpindi Test:
