“He Will Someday Win…” – Brett Lee Made A Big Prediction About Suryakumar Yadav

With yet another failure at the World Cup tournament, India’s wait for an ICC trophy continues. It was under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the Indian side last won the World Cup in 2011. It has been nine years since the Indian cricket team last laid its hands on an ICC trophy. Ever since then, India has participated in 2 ODI and 5 T20I World Cup tournaments, however, they have failed to emerge victorious on the biggest stage.

India reached the semi-final stage of the ODI World Cup in 2015 and 2019 but they ended up as the runner-up and secured another semifinal finish in World T20 2014 and 2016 respectively. India’s inability to deliver under pressure has resulted in widespread criticism.

Ever since India’s last World Cup win, several players have emerged as match-winners for India including the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, however, they all have failed to perform in the big games time and again.

Suryakumar Yadav

Meanwhile, former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has identified one player who he feels can end India’s World Cup drought and can get them a trophy in near future. Yes, Brett Lee feels that Suryakumar Yadav can win the World Cup for team India.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Brett Lee showered praises on India’s sensational batter and made a huge prediction about him. Lee also said that Surya was one of the highlights for him at the T20 World Cup. He said:

“India did not win the T20 World Cup, but the Sky rose. Of course, I am talking about Suryakumar Yadav. He is the new global T20 superstar. What a sensational 12-15 months he has had on the big stage. He has shown here on Australian grassy wickets where the ball skids through. His fearlessness, his shot selection is like a chess grandmaster. His execution is awe-inspiring and the smile on his face when he played it, it is priceless.”

He added: “SKY was one of the highlights for me at the T20 World Cup. He continues to bat with the same attitude. Not only will he score big runs but he will also someday win a World Cup for Team India. I love watching him play. My advice to Sky would be… no advice. Keep doing what you are doing, don’t change, don’t complicate things, back yourself.”
