Former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero, Yuvraj Singh praised the exceptional performances of young batter Rinku Singh in the shortest format. Yuvraj hailed Rinku Singh as the premier left-handed batter in India currently, drawing comparisons to his own playing style.
In recent T20Is, the Indian team has experimented with several left-handed batsmen, including Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube, who featured in India’s top six during the first T20I against Afghanistan in Mohali on January 11, resulting in a six-wicket victory.
After an outstanding IPL 2023 season, Rinku Singh has maintained his impressive batting form for Team India in international cricket. The left-handed batsman has amassed 278 runs in nine innings, boasting an outstanding average of 69.50 and an impressive strike rate of 180.52.

In a recent interview, Yuvraj Singh emphasized Rinku Singh’s capacity to make crucial decisions under pressure. Yuvraj expressed his confidence in Rinku’s potential to be a match-winner and a dependable finisher, particularly at the No. 5 or 6 positions. He said:
“He’s probably the best left-hander in the Indian squad right now. He reminds me of myself – he knows when to attack when to rotate strike, and he’s incredibly smart under pressure,”
He added: “He can win us matches. I don’t want to put pressure on him, but I truly believe he has the skill to do what I used to – to be the finisher who delivers at No.5 or 6,”
Yuvraj Singh, in his illustrious career, accumulated nearly 12,000 international runs, featuring 17 centuries. The left-handed batsman played a pivotal role in India’s triumphant 2011 ODI World Cup campaign, earning him the Player of the Tournament award. Additionally, he made significant contributions to India’s victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.
