'F**k Off': Shabnim Ismail Gave A Send-Off To Shafali Verma As Opener Departs After Two Sixes; Video

Mumbai Indians women fast bowler Shabnim Ismail once again showed her aggressive side on the field with her fiery, abusive, and one could call it provocative send-off to young Delhi Capitals women opener Shafali Verma.

MI and DC, the finalists of last season, met for the second time in the WPL 2024 season on Tuesday in Delhi, the latter’s home ground. MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Arun Jaitley stadium.

Shafali gave her side a cracking start with her quickfire knock of 28 runs in 12 balls, scored with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Both of her sixes came against Shabnim Ismail, the senior MI and South African pacer, before the same bowler dismissed her and gave her a ‘f**k off’ for a send-off.

Shafali took down Ismail for two consecutive sixes down the ground, the first one over the bowler and the second over mid-off, to two full balls from the speedster.

Channeling her experience, Shabnim Ismail then dragged back her length and that brought instant success as Shafali nicked a faint edge on her legside swipe through to the wicket-keeper, Yastika Bhatia.

Ismail was pumped up with the wicket, more than usual as she had been hit for two sixes in a row, something that has rarely happened in her long career. The Protea seamer let out a huge ‘f**k off’ roar toward Shafali who continued to walk off and didn’t respond.
