India’s experienced bowler Kuldeep Yadav ran through South Africa’s batting line-up as he registered his career-best ODI figures at home during the ongoing 3rd ODI match at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. In one of the best displays by the Indian bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav’s stunning performance, along with Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar’s brilliant outing, South Africa was bowled out for just 99 runs, which is also their lowest total in ODIs vs India.
Kuldeep jeopardized the Proteas batters with his magical deliveries throughout the game. Kuldeep Yadav bowled 4.1 overs and picked four wickets, conceding just 18 runs at a magnificent economy of 4.30 as the Proteas folded for just 99 in just 27.1 overs.
During the game, he also had an opportunity to take a hat-trick after dismissing Bjorn Fortuin and Anrich Nortje on consecutive deliveries in the 26th over. He earlier got rid of Andile Phehlukwayo and Marco Jansen.
This is the sixth time that Kuldeep has taken four or more wickets in an ODI. It has to be noted, that five of these hauls have come away from home. This is the first time that Kuldeep picked more than three wickets in an ODI match at home. He has now 44 wickets at home from 28 ODIs at an average of 33.00.
Also, this is the first time since 2019 that Kuldeep Yadav has taken three or more wickets in an ODI inning. The last time that Kuldeep picked 3 wickets was in 2019 in a match against West Indies in Visakhapatnam, where he returned with the figures of 3/52. This was an outstanding comeback by him.
