Fact-Check: Here’s The Real Story Behind David Miller’s ‘Daughter’s’ Viral News

In what is really sad and tragic news, South African batsman David Miller shared information of someone close to him passing away on Saturday after a battle with cancer. The cricketer is currently in Ranchi for the second ODI against India on Sunday.

Miller took to his social media handles to reveal this unfortunate news about the demise of a young girl who had been fighting with cancer for a long time, but she lost the battle earlier this week and now rests in peace.

Is she David Miller’s daughter who died of cancer?

The left-hander posted an emotional video on Instagram. The video contained photos of the journey of Miller with this special girl in her fight against cancer.

“RIP my little rockstar Love you always,” Miller captioned the video.

Miller also posted a message on his Instagram with a pitchside picture of himself and the giral. “Going to miss you my skut! Thee biggest heart I have ever known. You took fighting to a different level- always incredibly positive and a smile on your face,” he wrote in his Instagram story.

“A cheeky and mischievous side of you. You embraced every person and every challenge in your journey. You taught me so much about cherishing every single moment in life! I feel humbled to have walked a journey with you. I love you so much!”

Fact Check: it seems that while many websites are feeding you information that it was David Miller’s daughter who sadly passed away, we believe it was not Miller’s daughter. But a fan who had been closely associated with Miller of the past five-six years, or even before that. 

Out assertion conjecture is from an image of Miller and this girl, name Ane, from 2017 which the cricketer had posted on Instagram in which he said he was happy to catch up with Ane who was 5 years old then.

A renowned Twitter user has also slammed some of the Indian fans and websites for stating that it is Miller’s daughter who’s died.

Miller was involved in an innings-saving and match-winning partnership with Heinrich Klaasen in the first ODI against India in Lucknow.

In the rain-curtailed 40-overs-a-side ODI, after early losses of wickets, South Africa lifted themselves up from 110/4 in 22.2 overs to finish with 249/4 in 40 overs. David Miller scored 75* off 63 balls, in company of Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 74* off 65 balls. Their partnership was worth 139* runs in 106 balls. Chasing 250 in 40 overs, India fell 9 runs short despite Sanju Samson’s heroics, who scored 86* off 63 balls. Klaasen was named the Player of the Match.

It remains unclear whether David Miller will return home to be with his family or whether he will continue this ODI series against India and fly to Australia for the T20 World Cup.
